I have a continuous flow of water into my pit.
In an effort to reduce the on-off cycle frequency of the pump, I've set the activation point of the switch a little higher up in the pit, such that it is higher than the horizontal drain tiles coming in from the side.....so the water actually backs up into these pipes as the pit fills.
Is this a bad practice overall, and I should really be activating the pump before it reaches the drain pipe coming in from the sidewall; even if it makes the pump cycle much more often?
Watching and adjusting this pit is an unfortunate hobby of mine
Thanks!
