Dear Folks,

Does anyone know where I can get information about how old "radiator-type" steam heat works? Design, maintenance, etcetera...

thank you in advance

You should find some basic information by doing a web search. Steam systems are really pretty simple once they are installed. Not many moving parts. The number of HVAC guys familiar with steam systems seems to be dwindling, so you can run into trouble when you try moving things around or extending an existing system. Though, many of the old systems seem to have been well designed and installed properly.
