Sizing a new Softner System

Hello, considering The Patriot linked below but am trying to understand if I need the 48000 GR or could save a couple bucks and get the 32000GR... Looking to make the right decision so saving a couple bucks is not my priority.

Not sure what info is needed to help with a decision:

2 people living in a 2100sf house.

Is it always better to just go bigger when it comes to softeners ?

What is the water test?
Iron and hardness?
Number of bedrooms and bathrooms?
While there are only 2 right now what could the house have in the way of people later?

Bigger is not always better.

3 Bedroom / 2 full Baths... No clue on the Iron/ Hardness, I wonder if i could get that off the city's web site??

Our children are grown and gone but I would suspect that if we sell in the future the new owner would have a couple kids. It's a popular school district.



edit - found the city report . Iron = 0.891 .. could not find a hardness reading provided.

So there could be 6 people at some point, most likely 4-5 people.
Iron say 1ppm, still need to figure out the hardness.
But the 1.5 cubic foot unit looks like the one more based on the number of people and bathrooms for capacity and flow rate.

I would not size any type water treatment based on the size of the family that might buy the house in the future.

I wouldn't do that if I were buying a vehicle, a boat, RV or house either.

I'd size the softener based on the peak demand flow rate based on the type of fixtures in the house and how my family uses water.
