Do the cable companies tailor their ads to individuals?

I have recently changed my consumption bundle to include certain goods that I never purchased before.

And lo and behold, the adverts I have started to see on my Comcast have changed to include these types of goods.

Are these guys beaming their ad content based on what they know about me?

It's okay to click on the ads here Ian. In fact it's real okay to click on them.
The ads are going to differ by area though. When I was in Hawaii and in Detroit, I was seeing ads I hadn't seen before. And if I've been surfing the net, it tends to relate to those searches. So Ian, what ads are you seeing?

Day beds.

Furniture.

Hello Ian and the Group,

Yes Ian they do know what you watch if you have a two way cable system, With pay per view.
or a satellite system connected to a phone line.

Remember the days of Nilson ratings ?
They would bring a box to your house, and pay you for the survey.
Then they watch your channel changing habits and what you watch.

Now the equipment reports back to them automatically.

My guess is that You are getting adds from the Adult stuff that You are watching ? lol
They want to sell you enlargement Pills. (cameras are next, then they know what you got.)
