Default Brand-New 1/2" PVC ball valve is leaking

Just put in a solvent-weld 1/2" PVC ball valve as a shut-off valve on my sprinkler system. It shuts off great but when I turn it on, a trickle of water comes out of the handle. Nothing to do but to cut it out and replace it, right? Any suggestions on a replacement that WON'T leak, so I don't have to keep doing this?

    Thanks!

If its white with a red handle its a chinese joke on you.

Only leaks when on with sprinklers, maybe you can live with it.

Here is a valve for 3x the price of the junk one that will cost you more with labor and frustration.

you can give to this to your grandkids. US made

And another for less money with a union included:

Thanks for the speedy reply. I don't mind the cost of the bronze one, but it's a PVC line -- how do I connect it?

    Thank you.

You connect it with male adapters which may "snap" under any torque, or threaded sch. 80 PVC nipples, cut in half.

The beauty of graingers is that they give country of origin prominently - says USA anyway. Scared me for a moment.

Here is a CHEAP but top quality valve. I think I bought them all out, but they are Swiss made.

Country of blood money, but make nice valves and knives.
