The water pump in my comode was replaced about 3 years ago. After flushing the bowl fills up fine. But recently the water pump hesitates a few seconds after flushing before it will activate and fill the tank. I replaced the flapper just in case it had something to do with the problem. It seemed to help a little. Any advice would be appreciated.

Very few (only a few specialty toilets) have a pump in them. I'm assuming you are talking about the fill valve. Depending on the model, it may be a simple fix. First, though, if it has a visible float, make sure that it is not sticking. It could be catching on some corrosion, the chain that lifts the flapper valve, or rubbing on something.
