Cast Iron Tub, Mortar bedding required?

I'm in the process of replacing a steel tub (16 years old) with a cast iron tub. Tub will be setting on concrete slab. Should I still bed the replacement tub in mortar?

A true cast iron tub is as solid as you can get. There would be no benefit to using a mortar bed.
