I have a barn that is approximately 600 feet from the meter. I have done some research and am willing to run 4/0 Triplex to the barn, but my question is will the 600 feet of 4/0 wire significantly add to my bill? If I have less than a 2% voltage drop, will the bill be basically the same as if it was 50 feet from the meter and I used a smaller wire?

I appreciate your help,

Freddy

Nothing wrong with the voltage drop at 2% but

What size panel is going to be installed at the barn? Was this from a calculated load?

Is there a disconnect such as a fuse panel or breaker panel at the meter?

If there is a disconnect at the meter then triplex will not work as the neutral would need to be insulated and an equipment grounding conductor would be required.
