New to this forum. Thank you so much for taking a look.
I have a boiler/radiator system powered by natural gas. I've recently installed an extra circulator pump near the end of one of my two zones to increase the flow through a radiator that wasn't working. I currently have the new circ pump "hot-wired" to a light switch. So I can turn it on and off and it works like a champ -- no problem.
Here's my question:
I would like to tie the power for the new circ pump to the original circ pump that's on the same zone. That way when the thermostat calls for heat, both pumps fire up and move water together.
To do this, I found the load wire and common line coming out of my relay switch for the original circulator pump. I spliced new wire from the load and common and ran it to the new pump. The problem is -- I don't get any power to the new pump. The original still works fine. What am I doing wrong?
