My mother is 93, so me and the kids decided to go to Hawaii this Christmas for something different. We figured she needed to get some swimming in to keep in shape. We left Taylor behind, he wanted to visit with his high school buddy's during his Christmas break from college.
So it was Amy and Jamie and the grandkids.
We went swimming at Bellows yesterday, and two nights ago we did some Karaoke singing at the Shorebird. Yeehah!

All Your Loving

Somewhere Over The Rainbow
I wish I remembered it a bit better. After I did this, I picked up the CD so I could tell what parts I missed.

And then in the surf.

We snorkeled at Hanauma Bay, which is a fish preserve. An amazing number of fish to see.

Waikiki Beach, lots of things happening here. This is in front of Dukes restaurant, where we had just had lunch.

Jamie, Mason and I on a sailing trip in Waikiki. I love doing this when I'm there. Sometimes there is more wind, and this time there was little wind. Less of a "ride" but a good time anyway.

Mason, yes it was that exciting.

Mason and Jamie playing catch. A small football is alway a good thing to bring.

It's more like, don't blink, don't think about how they are holding the camera, is my bag showing? Lot's of things, I had some pictures with smiles though, I was having a good time. It's hard not to when you're staying out till 4:00 AM with the adults and then getting up at 7:00 AM with the grand kids. I needed to get back and rest up.
I had no idea how late the bars stayed open in Waikiki.

I'll have to go back and change some pictures for the ones with smiles I guess.

Kaitlyn and Mason with the gold statue in Waikiki

waikiki_outrigger_jetty.jpg

This is the view from my first morning in Hawaii. I was awakened at 7:00 AM by a phone call which was pretty funny. I was out until 4:00 AM my first night. There was a Karaoke bar downstairs and I found friends there that wanted to party longer. The people in Hawaii are very nice. What you don't see in the photo is about two dozen women taking a hula lesson on the sand right below me.

The view from my pent house room deck. I don't know how I got this room, somehow I was upgraded to this great view. Waikiki Outrigger Hotel on the beach. I love going here anyway, nice bar downstairs, and two restaurants, plus plenty of shopping in the lobby.

And then the next wave flows over and covers Kaitlyn. You can just see her eye peaking out of the wave.

Even I will admit that the gold statue in Hawaii does pose some advanatges over a morning's painting and decorating.

If you look real close, that gold statue looks a lot like Terry too. He could be in the wrong job. (Terry or the statue?)

Several nights me and the kids went to the Shorebird for Karaoke. One night as the bar was getting ready to close, the dj asked Jamie if he wanted to sing "Cult of Peronality". So Jamie wound up finishing the night off.

I dragged out a song I did in High School, "Folsom Prison" and sang it just a little lit up.
Or maybe I should say, relaxed.

Here is a nice video with my son Taylor that I did a few years ago in Waikiki.
A lot of music from the Luau on it, and towards the end, hula dancing.
