    Default Kerdi Drain Adapter

Found this video online today and thought it would be a nice reference video for you hard core DIYer's and even for some of you pros. I have not worked with this new Kerdi Adapter Drain before but it looks very straight forward.

I would imagine that it is not available from your local box outlet but for sure the finer tile suppliers will carry them.

I'll track one down and take a closer look.

Default Using Hydro Ban with a Kerdi Drain - a simpler approach

Does anyone know if Hydro Ban can be used instead of Kerdi with this new Kerdi Adapter Drain? I know Hydro Ban is approved for use with a regular Kerdi Drain - I'm just not sure if it allowed with this new adapter drain as well. I can't see why not.

Hydro Ban has been designed to attach to Kerdi Drains and other Plumbing fixtures and I can ensure you this approach is "Tried and True"....

I'll check around but maybe some one else has looked into this all ready...

    Thanks.

Default Kerdi Adapter Ring Sales in Indy

I received a call yesterday from Indy from "Eric". Eric is a contractor and he stumbled on my post here about the Kerdi Drain Adapter.

He is planning on installing a new Kerdi Shower kit and was told by his supplier in Indy that he would have to buy both the Kerdi Shower Kit and the Kerdi Flange adapter to install on top of his existing compression style clamping drain.

Lucky for Eric he has access from below. No need for the adapter ring....

This brings up a good point. If you do have the luxury of working from below these old P-Traps should be replaced with brand new fresh 2" ones... Every time!

The Kerdi Drain Adapter is ideal for those of you building say a Kerdi Steam Shower and need to bring your Kerdi down to a compression ring.

I speak these days with 1 - 5 builders like Eric a week. These men and women are from across the country - mine and yours. The Internet is a wonderful thing and I believe more projects are being build better with more information and more chances to discuss things easly with those working with the products every day.

I'm glad I could help Eric Out.
