Hello,

I am in the process of installing the plumbing for our new master bath. We will install a Manabloc manifold with a 1/2" PEX going to the shower. We plan on using a Moen shower setup with a showerhead, diverter and 4 body sprays. Is there anything we can do to make sure we have adequate pressure?

If the Manbloc has 3/4" ports, run that, or even 1". You can convert it to the valve side when it gets there. Just upsizing the pipe if the port is small will help, but it's not the same as having a larger port. Keep in mind that pex has a smaller ID than copper, PLUS, the fitting fits inside of it, further reducing the max flow.

High Volume fixtures

I realize this is a bit late as you are most likely beyond the changing point, but for those who may have similar questions in the future. The easiest solution is to run two 1/2" lines and use a bullhead tee (1/2x1/2x3/4 tee). This generally supplies enough water for those high volume fixtures (not the eight headed monster). As stated in prior posts, pex does have a narrower id (inside diameter); however, if installed as a homerun (not exceeding the specified lengths), the elimination of fittings more than overcomes this restriction. Every change of direction adds to the pressure drop in the line regardless of material. With pex, there is no change in direction (unless fittings are used). So, if you are using pex in a traditional method (2 pipe/branch&tee), be sure to look at the charts to determine if you can get there with 1/2".
There are no 3/4" or 1" port on the Manabloc.

P.S. this also is the solution for large tubs.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
