IF the store even has lead based wire solder, it will be 50/50, but otherwise ANY of the "no lead" solders will work better than 95/5. As far as living with solder for your entire life, if it were not for Ralph Nader, and other "do gooders", not wanting to get a "real" job, we would not have a lot of the limitations we have today. I am waiting for his next crusade now that brass cannot have lead in it, even though the amount of lead exposed to water in faucets was so negligible as to not be a factor, and IF the lead were being leached out, the faucets should have a "jillion" holes in them.
