I am not even close to being a plumber, but usually can get the job done. Not this time. I have a slow leak in the tub and when trying to turn the faucet handle tighter, it snapped off. I believe the stems are American Standard, and the piece that had the 2 straight sides where the stem wrench would grab onto is what broke. There is nothing for the wrench to grab onto. Is there any way of getting this stem out without having to tear open the wall and replace the whole thing?
