Can anyone give me some ballpark figures (what a plumber would charge) for replacing galvanized pipes with copper in my old house (via this forum).

-1200 sq ft house (2 stories)
-630 sq ft foundation size
-bathroom on 2nd floor
-kitchen on main
-boiler, water heater, washer in basement
-city line coming into the house from street is copper

Unfortunately, there are so many variables in doing a replumb, it's impossible to give even a rough guess. If it was new construction, it would be a bit less difficult, but when walls, floors, and ceiling are in place, it just requires on-site evaluation. Also, local plumbing rates will make a difference. You should contact 2 or 3 local plumbing contractors and get estimates on the job.
