    Default Cast iron flange replacement

    I have a dilemma.

In my basement there is a full 1950s rough for a bathroom. It works. Because it was done right.

One day in the future, a long long time away I may fit a finished bathroom there.

    The piping is cast iron.

For the toilet I have purchased two flanges in advance:

    1) an Oatey twist n set made of cast iron

    and

    2) an Oatey cast iron replacement compression type flange BUT only available in PVC or ABS

My dilemma is which to use.

The Twist n Set is made from a superior material but the compression flange is a much better design when it comes to installation and would be much easier to fit in an old 4 inch iron pipe.

    Discuss.
