our basement floor drain is clogged with what looks like rust and rocks (concrete) and water just sits on the floor...not the average hair, slime and soap scum. Have you ever heard of this?

At one point it would at least drain slowly. Now it won't drain at all. Trying to dig through it with a stick/pole gets us now where becuase the grit, water and rocks fall right back in like quick sand. Could the drain itself be falling apart? The rim seems corroded and broken and the water is rust colored. Seems like an auger wouldn't as much as some sort of vacum/suction would. Tried plunging it and that doesn't not work either. Is this a job for a professional?
