Can anyone direct me to some concrete guidelines regarding PEX and UV exposure? Specifically, I want to know whether PEX tubing being run under a house that may be exposed to some indirect light from crawlspace access grates or small ventilation screens at least a couple of feet away needs to be sleeved.

Thanks for the file, Kevin. That's what I wanted to see.

Usually the restriction applies to the UV rays in direct sunlight. There are none in indirect sunlight.

Thanks, HJ. That's what I thought. But when I spoke to the city inspector on duty, he indicated that I would want to sleeve any PEX that passed near any ambient light under the house. Just goes to show how much they still have to learn about PEX here in California.

Hey, wait a minute.
