Great! Thanks a lot!

Would it be advisable to change the injector in order to bring down the BD?
Depends. If you don't mind the extra minutes of being in bypass, the #00 is good for efficiency. Here are my estimates of BD. Round up. I expect white is the norm for this.

#00 Injector - Violet
108.7
#0 Injector - Red
80.3
#1 Injector - White
52.8

Also should the plug be changed to shorten brine fill?
I think you are asking if the BLFC should be changed. No need for that. The softener is not in bypass during brine fill, so there is no disadvantage with the 32 minute brine fill.

An update on this. I now have a family of 5. Just wanted to double check my settings for max eff. This is a 2.0 cu/ft unit. Hardness is 17 now. 0.25 BLFC

Current settings:

DF: GAL
VT: St2b (Standard Downflow/Upflow Double Backwash)
CT: Fd (Meter Flow Delayed)
C: 40k (capacity)
H: 17 (hardness)
RS: SF (Percentage Safety Factor)
SF: 15 percent
DO: 8 (Day override)
RT: 2:00AM
BW: 6 mins (back wash)
BD: 45 mins (brine draw)
BD: 4 (salt time setting) Second BW
RR: 3 mins (rapid rinse)
BF: 16 mins
FM: t1.2 - 1.5'' Turbine Meter (7000 default)

RS: SF (Percentage Safety Factor)
SF: 15 percent
I would use one of the following 3 pairs:
RS = cr ; cr = base reserve on recent experience
CR = 0 ; 0 is default (leave it or maybe it does not show)

RS = rc ; rc says use gallons vs percent
RC = 300 ; Reserve capacity gallons

RS = SF;
SF = 13 ; percent. (15% would be equiv to 353 gallon reserve with H=17.)

I don't like the RS=SF method, because if I change the hardness or capacity setting, I would need to change the SF number too. RS=rc is much more understandable.

For
DO = 14 ; Day Override (typ 28 if no iron/Mn)
that if fine if you are on city water or have very low iron into the softener

BD: 45 mins (brine draw)
47 or 45 would be OK with a #3 Injector - Yellow. I would have preferred a #2 Injector - Blue, and with that I would use BD=62 or 60 at your salting level. You might want to peek at the injector color, but most people would not do that. On the other hand, most people would have used 60 as the BD number not knowing the injector.

From your BF time, we can infer that you have a 0.25 BLFC.

Use CR if it is available, depends on how old the valve is. it is a fairly new update to the valve. if you use CR you will not have any adjustment as it will build its own algorithm in about 6 weeks.
