I have a 20+ year old Goulds Irri-Gator 2hp centrifugal pump which pumps from a river. It is approaching time to replace it. Have heard that some irrigation companies in our area have been replacing them with submersibles. Anyone had any experience doing this?

I like submersibles better, but you have to make sure it is legal in your area to have a sub in the river. Also need to be able to secure it where it won’t wash away, or clog with river debris.
