There are lots of recommendations for Toto toilets here, and we have a Drake in our home that works great. The Toto Clayton, however, isn't often mentioned. So here's my request for advice:

If...
1) your spouse really preferred the look of the Kohler Memiors toilet,
2) the only Toto toilet option your spouse will allow is the Clayton, and
3) the Clayton is $100 more expensive than the Kohler...

What choice would you make? Thanks!

It depends on how much you like plunging.
You will wind up plunging the Memoirs more often. But not much.
Kohler redesigned the Memoirs, and it is improved. I still give an edge to TOTO though.

Check out the trapway. The Clayton and the Drake have a rounded trapway pointing waste down the drain.
The Kohler trapway lays flat on the ground, and then makes a right angle bend to go down.
