I'm ordering softball shirts with the Love Plumbing Logo on them,
White with Red trim. The logo will be red and yellow.
If anyone is interested in a softball shirt with the logo, let me know.

I'm sponsoring a softball team this year and could order more shirts.
My son Jamie and daughter Amy will be on the team, and if my surgery heals soon, I might be able to play too. I did a little batting practice today, might not have been smart, but I did. The stiches didn't rip out, so I'm good to go.

Standings for 2011
We made the playoffs and it will come down to one night for the final.

I'm still feeling young, I was batting .615 in 2009 with triples and doubles and playing center field.
On base plus slugging was 1.576
I think next year should be better, I'm 30 pounds lighter.

Well, the professionals are also LIGHTER, but it is because they are now mostly "drug free", and they are not doing as good as previously.

Well, my son can hit the ball 50 feet over the fence, and I can't get it to the fence.
That's what 32 does for you over 58.

I have learned to slip the ball between the fielders though.
I can't depend on going over their heads anymore.
Although I did do that once last year, still stayed in the fence line though.

I just got the artwork back.

The left goes on the front and the right with the number and players name goes on the back.
If anyone wants a shirt, let me know and you can pick your number and name.

So Monday night we get our first softball injury. Dacia was in the infield while my daughter Amy was taking batting practice. The ball had some movement on the line drive off her bat. Just missed the glove and smacked her in the face. Ouch!

Amy, she looks sweet here. She does hit the ball pretty hard though.

And then what? Dissolving stitches underneath, and then about a dozen on top. Ya think she can play in two weeks?

Tuesday July 6th 2010

The first game is on the 12th at 6:00 at Marymoor.
We practiced last Tuesday and saw the shirts for the first time. Amy and the girls, Lisa, Jamie and I showed up early for some Kentucky Fried Chicken. Then before the others on the team showed up, we got some batting practice in. This time, none of the Love's hit anybody else on the team. I did hit Jamie on the leg though. He was giving me too many outside pitches and of course one went right back up the middle and slammed him in the leg. I was taking the inner pitches to right pretty deep. I one-hopped the fence a few times, which surprised me considering how cut up my stomach was last Winter.
I guess the arms are working okay now at least for swinging a bat.

Hmmmmm, but can he run?
Hitting, but not running so fast. Next year I should get my legs back too.

Throwing a little batting practice. Those pads on the legs are for line drives up the middle.

Jamie Love

Jamie will be playing some outfield and infield. He's our big power and speed guy. He plays on few teams. Sometimes he plays on the KISW Foul Balls team as an out fielder.

cd_jamie_02.jpg

Here he is throwing some batting practice. He knows where I like them.

Jerry,
I just sent the shirt on Thursday, so you should get it next week.
A little late for your birthday, but close.

When you get it, can you take a picture of you wearing it and post it?
That would be cool, part of the Texas traveling team.

IV DinoMo's softball team

2010
We lost our first two games, the first loss was first game jitters, the second game we were ahead until the last inning, and then one of their gals hit a bases loaded bomb to left field.
A walk off home run. It surprised them too. It was crushed.

Laura Shepard at the plate with Don warming up.
We're all wearing the new uniforms now, maybe not helping us win, but looking good.

cd_712_glenn.jpg

Glenn Peterson, he's good with a bat too.

Jim Masters, Paul and Jamie had home runs that night, Jim had a good night batting as did Paul.

Week five

After five weeks, and ten games, we have a team batting average of .549, OBP of .574 and slugging of .721
We're averaging a little over 13 runs a game.
The record is 8 and 2, but we have some of the better teams to play still.
The main thing is, the beer is cold afterwards and the company good.

I played for the first time last week since I went though the cancer removal surgeries. It's the first time I've run all year. I wasn't sure how that was going to work.
I wound up 4 of 8 with two triples and two doubles. I kind of wore down as the games went on. My wheels are still a bit rusty.
I played right field and hoped for the best. One bad play, one good play and a few regular plays in the OF.

Pam has one of the best averages for the women. She plays second base mainly.
