I am in the process of buying a 1929 georgian home that has been vacent for 10 years and the heat off for 3. it has no visable signs of water damage. I am concerned about the plumbing and heating system. How can I have them tested? The furnace needs to be replaced so turning it on won't work. Any suggestions

If you live in a freezing area, expect some problems. Even if not, just being out of service for 10 years is hard on plumbing. All the faucet and toilet parts are probably dried out.

Are you wanting to move in as-is, or do you expect to do a lot of renovation, which is more likely?
