Hi there,

I have a 3 years old Carlin oil burner installed on a OWB & OWT boiler. When the thermostat reach its set temperature and shut down the furnace, the oil burner will cycle on and off very rapidly 6 or 7 times at one second interval before stopping completely. it makes a sound like "rapid breathing". It doesn't feel normal to me. What may be the cause of it?

Thanks in advance,

JF

Agree's with pete, aquiety, T-stat,Limit Control, or your Primary Control specially if you have R8184G type control (grey box with a red button) Contacts get worn out make the control click on and off rapidly run the unit and give the control few love taps and see if get stuck or shut off and on.
