Hello Terry,

I have just remodeled my bathroom and am looking for a TOTO toilet I can use with an 11" rough in dimension. The 1/2" supply is 5 - 1/4" left of center of closet flange and approximately 5 - 1/2" above finished floor surface. I was thinking of either the DrakeII or one of the Ultramax models. I also read on the Toto website of using the toilets that use the Uni fit. I would like to squeeze a standard 12" rough in toilet if this is possible. Thanks for the help in advance, and thanks for the great website! Howie in sunny So. Cal.

The Drake II needs 11.5"
CST454CEFG

The Drake can get by with 10-7/8"
CST743E
CST744E
CST744EG
CST744EL
CST744L

There is talk of a 10" Aquia bowl in the future,
They have them at the factory.
I'm bringing some here for the Seattle area.
CST412MF.10

Toto Vespin II CST474CEFG with SS114 Softclose seat.
This bowl was installed on a 13-1/2" rough-in using the 14" Unifit adapter.
The water shutoff can be as close as 5-1/2" to the left of center, unless it's higher off the floor, and then it can be even closer to center.
This shutoff had been replaced with a new 1/4 turn valve with brass nipple through the wall.
Installation was by James Love of Love Plumbing & Remodel 206-949-5683
In some of the older Seattle homes, the old toilets had been wall mounted tank toilets.
Those typically are 14" rough-in and need a flange repair to use standard closet bolt connections at the flange.
Everything is on the truck for that.
The Vespin comes with a standard 12" adapter or you can order a 10" or 14" adapter depending on your rough-in distance.

Thanks for the quick reply Terry, I checked all the models you listed. Model CST 744E, I believe I can get this model with the CEFIONTECT and in the Sedona beige, and 14.5" heighth. Is there a model I can order with the ADA heighth? Thanks, Howie in So. Cal.

ADA would be CST744EL-12 and be installed at 11-0"
The ADA doesn't have CEFIONTECT.

CEFIONTECT doesn't come in Beige unless you get the Drake II, which is comfort height but requires 11.5" rough

Toto does make other toilets that would fit. I have a Vespin in the beige with CEFIONTECT in one of my bathrooms. You'd have to buy the 10" Unifit adapter (it comes with a 12" one), but that would fit fine. Any of the units that can utilize the UniFit adapter would work.

I checked on the specs for the Vespin and it requires an 8" left of center dimension for the water supply. I only have 5 1/4" left of center, would I have to move my supply?

In a standard install, there's 3/4" behind the toilet to the wall. WIth your 11" rough and a 10" Unifit, you'd have 1-3/4", plus, the bowl sits away from the wall a bit more than the tank. You probably could fit the valve in. Terry is a better judge of this. More offset would make it easier.

Hello Terry,
If I was to consider the installing the Vespin using the 10" unifit, would this be possible without moving my supply valve? The valve is 5 1/4" left of center right now, thanks, Howie

Toto Drake and Rough In

Hi:

We would like the round version of the Toto Eco Drake model CST743E because we don't have a lot of space. I have read in several places in this forum that this toilet will fit as little as 10 7/8 inches rough in because set at 12 inches the toilet sits 1 1/8 inches from the wall. See this link where Terry specifically mentions this model.
https://terrylove.com/forums/showthread.php?34708-TOTO-choices-for-11-quot-rough-in

I also downloaded the spec sheet for this model and the diagram shows only 3/4 of an inch to the wall. My rough in measured on my old toilet is just under 11 inches so I am not sure that 3/4 of an inch will do but 1 1/8 inches should work. Can anyone confirm that the 743E model will fit less than 11 inches rough in.

Here is a PDF of the spec sheet if you want to see what I mean. You can see the 3/4 inches in the diagram.

Thanks for your advice. Kent

The horn on a toilet is smaller than the opening in the flange, and with the holes the way they are, you can fudge it and not quite center it to gain at least an extra 1/4" or so.

Thanks for the info, Jim. Even with that extra 1/4 inch I think it will be very close if that is added to 3/4 inch. One side of the toilet is under 11 inches to the wall, the other just over. I may go with the elongated version and not worry about the fit then. I was worried about bumping into the toilet with the extra 1.5 inches but I think we will get used to it and it will be fine. Thanks again.

I just want to make sure that you are measuring from the bolts (or flange center) to the drywall or tiled surface behind it. Some measure from the baseboard instead, and that will show less room than what you actually have.

Yes I am measuring from the center of the bolts to the drywall and not the baseboard. One side reads under 11" and the other side just over 11". Thanks for the help.
