Would I be able to sufficiently sweat 3/4" copper with a propane torch as opposed to using MAPP gas?

Thank you.

If you are going to have to buy a torch, get the MAPP gas, but if you already have a propane torch, it will work just fine. MAPP is h otter so it will work faster, but for a DIY job, the time saved will not be enough to make buying a new torch if you have the propane.
