Default New Bradford White Anode Removal

This is my 1st post on this boad and I just wanted to introduce myself...
I've got well water and was planning on putting an Aluminum/Zinc anode in a new water heater before I install it. The new Bradfords have the anode attached to the hot water outlet.

I like the Bradford's but what I am wondering is... How do you remove the hot water outlet anode without damaging anything?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Talking you dont...

you just have to be careful when you grab the threads of that nipple with a pipe wrench or large cahnnel locks....

sometimes they come out easy, sometimes
    they are in there tight.....

usually you will scar it up a little bit...

    no big deal
