    No...I was wide awake...but what they (obama) are trying to do will froe ever change the face of our country like no other administration has done since we became a Country if it passes...So I stand by what I said...the previous 8 years (bush) did not do that...but it has blame also in that it set the stage for what is happening...

    But you wouldn't listen.

    We would happily come back if some arrangement could be made regarding the back taxes...

    That was all repaid a year or two ago. I remember the news about it.

    The dollars we borrowed were not quite worth the same as the ones we paid back.

    They were worth a lot less.



    In 1945, it was $4 to one pound.

    Very happy days. We almost owned the place (again)!

    The ones from WWI were never repaid
    DIY Handyman (not 4 hire)

    Ah, yes sorry Dave.

    I have checked the accounts and we stopped those payments because we believed that the debts should have been canceled altogether as the American contribution to a common struggle.

    Seems fair enough to me.
