This is of absolutely no interest to anyone, but here it is anyway:
I happened to have to dig out my birth certificate this week. It shows that I was born in the ARMY AIR FORCES REGIONAL STATION HOSPITAL #1, Coral Gables, FL.
Well guess where that hospital was:
In March 1943, The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Fla., was officially activated as the Army Air Forces Regional Station Hospital No.1. The hotel's exquisite, one-of-a-kind furniture and fixtures, which cost over $1 million in 1925, were placed curbside for trash collection.
Too bad mom didn't score some of that fancy stuff that was thrown out!
They threw out the plumbing then brought in a plumber!
