Hello, new poster here with a question.
What is the difference between heavy electrical conduit and galvanized plumbing pipe?

Probably not too much. Pipes for plumbing have tapered threads and the conduit may not. The latter is better quality and endorsed by NSF. In a pinch I could see using the latter for the first, but not the other way around.
