I just finished installing a brand new 4 inch spread Lyntier Kohler faucet, and the hot water does not stop running when the handle is in the off position. I took the assembly apart as much as I could to see if I could adjust it, but I was not able to remove the part below the spline adapter that you can see by scrolling down to page 14 here:

I put a wrench on it, and tried to loosen it both ways (it says that one model has reverse threads). The spline just spins freely, with the water flow going from fully on to a slow stream. Any advice would be appreciated, as I'm hoping to have this fixed by the weekend (Son's first birthday party is on Saturday).
