I have a kitchen remodel in my future, so I've held off buying a new stove/oven until I get the project finished. In the meantime, I am using an old 1970's gas stove/oven that a friend had sitting in his garage for the past 10yrs. I'm hoping the kitchen will be done this winter, but the plan was also for it to be the first thing we did when we bought the house in March of 2008!!! My wife isn't thrilled, but understands.
In any case after about 6months of using the oven portion, my wife tells me it won't stay lit. So she has stopped using it. The burners on the stove work fine.
I'm sitting here today and I wonder, do those have thermo couplers and if so is that a likely culprit? I'd sure like to fix this so we can have an oven for the upcoming holidays, but I don't want to go out and spend $$$$ on a new oven and chance it getting damaged when I finally get to the kitchen remodel.
If this is likely a big issue, I'll probably have to go buy a cheapy oven to get her by until I get the kitchen finished. Any thoughts??
