How to replace flush valve in Eljer Canterbury 1 piece poilet

I have an Eljer Canterbury one piece toilet, and am not sure how to replace the flush/flapper valve. In a two piece toilet, it is accessible once the water tank is removed. In a one piece toilet, the water tank cannot be removed.
