Installing a Dryer 30 Amp power cord, 120/240 volt. what gauge wire?

# 10 wire will do. Fyi, I think that #10 wire is orange.

I've never seen an orange dryer cord.

Besides, I think the OP forgot all about this thread. I would be nice if he came back to explain what the heck he is asking about.

Just make sure the receptacle outlet will except the male end of the
dryer cord.

So are you going to use a 3-wire or 4-wire dryer cord set.

Installing a 4-wire dryer cord set can be a little tricky.

With a 3-wire, grounding of the dryer frame is done thru the
neutral/grounded conductor of the dryer cord

With a 4-wire, grounding of the dryer frame is done thru the ground
conductor of the dryer cord.


And if not sure how to do this properly, post back, there some good
guy here, that will walk you thru it.
