Considering changing current cast iron closet flange/lead soil pipe in a 35+ yr. old house. Would perhaps like to use ABS or PVC and connect to 3" copper soil pipe in basement. Attached are pictures showing closet flange in 1st floor bathroom and showing lead riser/soil pipe and copper connections below (in basement). Have good access to pipes below, which should help.

Lead riser goes into a solid copper elbow, which goes into 3" copper soil pipe.

How would you recommend replacing this?
ABS, PVC, or Cast Iron Assy?

Was thinking of using 3" ABS flange/elbow/piping and getting threaded adapter that goes from 3" ABS to 3" copper. Comments? Problems?

Or, more simply a 3" rubber Fernco?

Looking at the picture, does anyone see any problems?

Any advice anyone could provide would be GREATLY appreciated.
