I have moved my upstairs bathroom across to hall. When it was time to put the 3" vent pipe through the roof I ran into trouble. I could cut through the double sill at the corner of the wall were the roof meets or cut through the rafter. I dont like my options. Can I run the vent pipe off the side of the house?

if you have ceiling joist cut out the double plate. run the pipe thru the roof then install a long nail plate across the cut. the exterior plywood sheathing and the joists will keep it from moving. if its a vaulted ceiling you'd have to check if you have a weight bearing ridge before cutting.
post a pic or give more info.
