Metal Drain Tube to ABS

easy question I hope:

Getting ready to install a tub in the bath and it has this waste and overflow bath drain - image attached...

how do i join that sucker to my ABS drain?

If the vertical tubing is standard size thinwall, you should be able to s/w a (marval, desanko, slip joint adapter-three of the names for one type of fitting) fitting onto the ABS trap to receive it.

Look at the adapter under your sink that lets you connect the drain at the wall. Very likely the same type, if not the same size.

They make a "trap adapter" for ABS to thin wall using a slip joint nut and washer.

There are two sizes of tail pieces on tub drains.
The standard thin wall 1-1/2" size and the old style 1-3/8 thin wall.
With some old tub drains, I need to pick up a 1-1/2 x 1-3/8 slip joint washer.
