Kinetico Model 60 Connections

I was trying to help my father-in-law install his model 60 Kinetico that was moved down from thier old house into his new house and we were having a little trouble because we didn't take it apart and aren't sure what the connections on main tank (read: not salt tank) goes to. We know at least one runs to the brine connection, but we don't know where the other one goes. I think it should be run to a drain, but am not sure. I looked for links to a kinetico manual, but that seems to be a dead end.

There is a brine line and drain line connection. The smaller is the brine line and the larger is the drain line.
