How old are these fuses?
If you were to guess, How old would you say these fuse's are?
Not even sure what the one on the right is .... Should these be in a 5 ton heat pump rated for 50amp? They are 45amp.

I got 24A for a 5 ton heat pump with COP = 3 at 240v. Start up current may be 6x higher.Originally Posted by Phillbo
Wrap the fuse in several layers of newspaper and hit it with a hammer. If the fuse element inside is only cracked in one place it was a fatigue failure or a mild overload. If the element is splattered it was a heavy overload.
