I recently had a 4 inch diameter well dug, and hit water 32 feet below ground. We hope to use it to provide water to the house, using both a compressor and a hand pump.
However, the well diggers stated that it is impossible to have both on the same well. We want to have both so that we can have continue to have access to safe water during power outages and disasters such as hurricanes.
The compressor line is apparently going to be 1 inch in diameter.

Are the diggers correct, or is there a way to have both on the same well?

Thanks for any help you can give.

This compressor thing is new to me. Can you tell me how it works? Does it pressurize a tank somehow?

What kind of hand pump? Deep well or a Pitcher pump?
