I've got a steady-stream leak from my tub faucet. it's a 3 handle setup (hot, cold, diverter). ive replaced all 3 valves, gaskets/washers, i even replaced all three seats - or whatever you call them - that the valves screw into. it helped for about 2 days, but now the leak is a steady stream again and every day it gets worse. ive been told that i should get rid of the 3-knob setup altogether, and will do so next week. but why is it SO BAD now and what can i do in the meantime? this leak is rediculous and it wont stop!!!!

It's not put together right. The seats (rubber) are torn or something is not assembled correctly. Do you have time to tear into it again¿ Plumbers grease might help the reassembly.

thank you. you were right. things were not seated as well as they should have been and i think the grease did help a little too. its 90% better and that'll be fine till i redo the whole thing next week. thanks again.
