I have a dug well about 30' to bottom. This is a remote cabin off grid powered by solar panels. The pump would run on a inverter. The cabin is on a high ridge about 150' looking down at the ocean. The distance from the well is about 50' fairly vertical. What type of pump should I use. HP, shallow, Deep, convertable. Would I be better off using a larger pressure tank to minimize pump cycling. Thanks much

I want to use a jet pump. The well is about 30' deep. it is about 10' to top of water. The well ususaaly has about 8' of water. This is a dug well about 4' in diameter. Thanks for the reply

I agree, you should be looking at a submersible not a jet. The jet will give you problems at 22'. I would put in a sub with a float attached to the droppipe wired in line with the sub to protect it when the water level gets down near the inlet of the pump. And it will sooner or later as dug wells never produce a lot of water.

Hey, wait a minute.
