Hi,

This past winter my sump pump failed , prior to the failure. The pump did not have a constant discharge and it did not run often at all. I have noticed that the replacement pump discharges about every 5 mins or so, and I hear a constant trickle of water in the well and or pump pit , is this normal ?

Thanks

pump

If water is entering the basin, then the pump will operate as often as necessary to pump it out. The question would be whether the water entering the basin is normal or due to an improper pump installation.
