Hi,

Ive got a RUUD model P40-38, natural gas water heater. I dont have an owners manual so if someone has an answer on here, I'd appreciate it;
The gas temp adjustment knob has a vacation mode. Last year I shut the gas pilot off and turned the knob to the off position. When I returned this season I had to relight the pilot. If I put the knob in "vacation" mode, does this model still heat water? or does the pilot just stay lit? Thanks in advance.
