hot water shutting off

I have the old 3 handle shower setup. After turning on the hot water, everything is fine for the first 15 seconds. Then a "clunk" sound and hot water shuts off. This happens at the shower head also. Replaced the tub and shower 3 handle set but problem still exists. Help!!!!

SOmetimes, you end up with a chunk of gunk in the pipes that drops when the flow is off and moves up then blocks things when it is pushed along with the flow.

You might try removing the hot valve, momentarily turn the water back on while they're out and see if you can dislodge it. If it stops flowing, you may be able to see what it is.
