Hello, we purchased our home in the spring of 05. That fall we smelled sewer gas only when it was warm during the day and cool at night, but never when it rained. We had our septic tank pumped. Smell went away! Then came the spring, sewer gas again! To make a long story short, it is now almost November 2010 and we still smell sewer gas. We have had our lines smoked 3 times, wax rings on toilets changed, and replumbed our entire home. We have even had the gas company come out to be sure it wasn't natural gas. Everytime we do something, the smell will go away for a while and then resurface. Now it doesn't even have to be warm during the day and cool at night for it to smell. The smell used to be completely water related because it would only stink when we showered, flushed toilets, ran the dishwasher or sinks, or if we ran a load of laundry. However, now the house can fill with gas without us even running water. We turn the garage fan on and it sucks the gas out from under our home. There are no clogs, we've checked that too and been through 2 professional plumbers and a several thousand dollars. Please help! PS - we are not on city sewer, we have a septic tank that dumps into a sewer lagoon. Could it be a problem with the sewer lagoon? It is covered with duckweek and has weeds and grasses grown up all around it
