Hello, I am a homeowner who had a plumber replace a sliding shower door. He did so be installing a frameless swinging shower door along with a panel. The opening is about 24 inches once it pivots. Is that the normal size opening? Can the opening be expanded?

24" is the minimum required per code. If this was a kit, it should meet that minimum. Usually, this is not adjustable, you have to buy a different one. If it was custom made, and is less than 24", they made a mistake and should fix it.
