February 1st, 2009 the NFC Cardinals will be playing the AFC Steelers.
The Cardinals for the first time in the Super bowl, and the sixth time the Steelers will be there.
East Coast Steel Town versus the West's Retirement Town.
What is your pick and why for this years game?

I'm feeling kinda bummed today.
I guess the Cardinals, they used to be my favorite when they were in St. Louis.

Since N.E. is out of it it I couldn't care less. On the plus side though I will be able to watch the game without having to worry about my blood pressure. :D

poll

Well, since PA has a lot more people than AZ, and the results so far are 9 to 7 for the Steelers, that implies that there are a lot more, and a higher percentage of, Pennsylvanians who do not think the Steelers will win.

Kurt Warner by far the better QB but defense I believe wins a game.

And the steelers are notorious for hurting the opposing team, nasty hits. The kind that you have to call the parents of the injured because it's that bad.

I hate to say it, I've never heard of the arizona cardinals before this year. Are they a new team, used to be another team by another name? Anyone got history on them?

Really? Are they bringing back Bradshaw, Mean Joe Green, Swann and company?
I thought those guys were getting pretty old.

What a bunch of old guys did twenty years ago doesn't help the new guys.

The Steelers do have a good defense, I saw their last game.
But all of these teams are constantly changing players and coaches.

Both teams currently have players that have won Superbowls.
I notice in one of my SI magazines that some writer was picking the Cards.

They're playing in Tampa FL
The weather should be good for an Arizona team.

Not much in Common

Kurt Warner
Warner now boasts a 97.3 postseason passer rating; Montana, 95.6.
Only the great Bart Starr was better in the playoffs (104.8).
