Steam vent still leaks?

I replaced a leaking steam vent on a radiator and the brand new one
also leaks steam.

(BTW this is a one pipe system.)

Did I buy the wrong replacement or was it defective or ?

Well after a day or two it started working properly...
I didn't even hit it with anything! :)

Still not sure if it came from the factory stuck closed or what.
