Hi,
I decided to go with the Persuade for my ensuite. The low price (relative to Toto), dual flush, looks and MaP rating of 600 grams (Nov 2008) were my reasons for purchasing.
Install took a while since I had to cut out the section of baseboard (no big deal) and I still had to bring the waterline through the floor. Once all that was done, install was quick. This was my first toilet install.
Now for my question. The top of my flange was about 1/2" below the top of the tile. I decided to go with 2 wax rings. Put one on the flange and the other on the underside of the toilet. Lifted the toilet on and pressed down a bit. It seemed to go down fairly easily. I was expecting to have to practically stand on the toilet to get the rings to compress. I wondered if the ring on the underside of the toilet had come off while I lifted it on but I decided to finish the install.
I tested it several times (10+) and didn't seem to get any sort of leak. I slid pieces of paper under the toilet to the flange area to see if there was water and nothing...
Are the rings supposed to be easy to compress? I'm a pretty big guy so perhaps I'm just remarkably strong . Thats my only real concern.
As for the perfornamce, I haven't had a really good chance to put it through its paces due to the holidays and the bathroom not being completely finished but I'll report back at a later date if I remember.
